Beyond-Me-(color).jpgNew youth ministry resource Beyond Me: Grounding Youth Ministry in God's Story helps Christian youth workers think theologically and practically about the work they do. It examines postmodern youth culture, reflects on popular ministry models, and then presents a biblical paradigm that speaks to youth based in Anabaptist emphases on community, discipleship and compassionate service in the world.

FREE guide to nurture spiritual growth in youth What is your congregation’s plan to disciple high school youth? Have you taken time to think through what faith themes you want youth to explore during their critical teen years? YouthGuide is a free new resource outlining a four-year plan for youth learning activities. Use YouthGuide to coordinate Sunday school, youth group or other learning experiences to be sure youth get a comprehensive grounding in Bible, Anabaptist/Mennonite theology and history, and habits of Christian living. Download it free at www.mpn.net. Also available for download is MennoLens, a guide to evaluating curriculum with a Mennonite eye.

Have you heard?Listen Up! Messages from God is the Mennonite Vacation Bible School curriculum for 2008. Listen Up! introduces children age 4 through grade 8 to five prophets from the Hebrew Scriptures: Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jonah, Amos and Daniel. Through stories, drama, worship and Listen Up Links, children learn about God’s messages of hope, transformation, mercy, justice and faithfulness, and discover how these messages still hold true for people today. Materials encourage kids to dig into the Bible for themselves. Ask your VBS team to check www.mpn.net/vbs, and plan now to use Mennonite materials in 2008.

No Vacation Bible School? Consider using Listen Up! Messages from God for a midweek, club or retreat study. Included with the director’s materials are full plans for organizing a five-day or a 12-week program. Materials are flexible and work well with a wide age range.
