History isn’t just about the past – it’s also about how the past shapes our present and guides our future. To understand where we are now and where we are going requires an understanding of where we have been.

That’s why the Mennonite Church USA Historical Committee, a ministry of Mennonite Church USA Executive Leadership, is responding to God’s call to preserve our heritage, interpret our faith stories and proclaim God’s work among us. We do so in a variety of ways:

Archival collections

The Historical Committee administers archives in Goshen, Ind., and North Newton, Kan., which house more than 20 million documents, plus a growing online archives of digitized materials.
