- How will your congregation respond? — It’s estimated that as many as 100 pastors in Mennonite Church USA are currently uninsured. The Corinthian Plan is a response to a mandate by Mennonite Church USA delegates in 2007 that called for developing a way “to cover all of our pastors with basic health insurance.” The plan provides a way for every congregation to participate and a way to assist those who are currently unable to provide insurance for their pastor. It provides an opportunity to practice mutual aid and to work for greater justice in health-care access for pastors and church workers.
Pastors and leadersPastor Salary Guidelines for 2009-2010 are available online. By not sending a paper copy of the guidelines with Equipping we avoid printing 11,000 pieces of paper. Advanced Spiritual Guidance training will be offered by Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary though the 2009–2010 academic year. This seminar will foster competence and maturity in the practice of spiritual direction for people who have had at least two years of experience offering direction.
