Two-Way Mission: North and South Americans in Conversation is a compelling window into church life and mission in Bolivia and Argentina (the Chaco and the Patagonia region). Original Andean and indigenous music weaves together you-are-there footage and interviews that document the movement of God’s Spirit in the lives of people in North and South America, as mission models expanded beyond the classical mission compound to include ministries of presence and partnership. Six video segments of varying length and a study guide make these stories appropriate for “moments in mission,” sermon illustrations, discussion starters in Sunday school classes or small groups, mission education and orientation for short-term mission groups.

Promote International Peace
Help promote international peace and reconciliation. MCC offers opportunities through SALT (Serving and Learning Together) and IVEP (International Volunteer Exchange Program).
SALT is an 11-month program (August through July) for young adults (ages 18 to 27) from North America to serve in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America/Caribbean and the Middle East.
IVEP (International Volunteer Exchange Program) invites young adults (ages 18-30) from Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America to North America for one year of service.
Both programs seek to further international understanding and reconciliation, church commitment and the participants’ spiritual, personal and professional growth. North American churches can help find host families and service assignments (sponsors) for the IVEP volunteers and also encourage their own youth to participate in an international SALT assignment.
Contact Andrea Geiser, alg@mcc.org for IVEP and Sonya Charles, sjc@mcc.org for SALT. The SALT application deadline is Feb. 15, 2009; www.mcc.org/salt.
