Mennonite Church USA Executive Leadership

The Charlotte Holsopple Glick Pastoral Leadership Fund provides grants and loans for continuing education for conference ministers, bi-vocational pastors and persons exploring pastoral ministry for the first time. The fund is able to provide about three grants per year. One grant per person. Up to two interest-bearing loans are allowed from the fund. Preference for Mennonite schools.

Each area conference has grant programs for people interested in ministry.

Lilly Foundation

National Clergy Renewal Program

In the National Clergy Renewal Program, the Endowment annually provides as many as 120 grants of up to $45,000 each directly to Christian congregations for the support of a renewal program for their pastor.

Deadlines for proposals are generally in May, with announcements of recipients generally made by October.

There is also a Clergy Renewal Program for each of the 50 states, providing as many as 40 congregations with up to $45,000.

Deadlines for proposals are generally in February, with announcements of recipients generally made by the end of June.

Ministry Leadership Awards

Ministry Inquiry Program – program to allow youth to explore ministry – offered by each of the schools.

Bluffton University

Pathways to Ministry Scholarships: The Pathways to Mission and Vocation program awards grants to five students who are exploring their calls to ministry. 

Summer Dreaming Grant: Pathways also offers grants to four students for summer vocational discernment. These grants are open to students focused on a variety of vocational directions.

Ministry Inquiry Program: An 11 week summer service learning program for students considering pastoral ministry.
