More about the project
The Mennonite Mission Network Board and the Executive Board jointly support the construction of a new office building south of Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Indiana.
The Executive Board reached consensus to move forward on Sept. 21, 2006, and authorized the Mission Network to lead the Joining together, Investing in hope campaign. The campaign aims to raise $6 million for a new Elkhart office facility and approximately $6 million to cover annual fund income for the three-year campaign.
This project grows out of a deep desire to practice sound stewardship and a commitment to maintain and strengthen our ability to share all of Christ with all of creation. The multi-use facility will be funded by supporting constituents who have already contributed $8.4 million to the campaign. The new facility will reduce operating costs by more than $170,000 per year and provide efficient office space for Mennonite Church USA organizations in the future. This facility, along with the Newton, Kan., and Harrisonburg, Va., offices, will provide a stable platform for common work without draining resources for annual lease payments.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2010, pending attainment of our fund raising goals.
We invite you to prayerfully consider joining with us on this journey as we strive to shape every member, congregation, conference, agency and school to view ourselves and the world around us as the arena of God’s mission in Jesus Christ.
