The goal:
A green building that uses our financial and environmental resources in sustainable ways.
LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
How we’ll get there:
Water
- Use water-efficient landscaping.
- Reduce water use 30 percent.
Energy
- Reduce light pollution and use natural daylight for light and warmth.
- A variable refrigerant flow heating and cooling system along with a well insulated building envelope will use 25–30% less energy than conventional construction.
Air
- Manage air quality during and after construction.
- Use low-emitting adhesives, paints, carpets and composite woods.
Construction
- Use local and regional building materials in construction, with 20 percent recycled materials.
- Protect or restore animal habitats on the site.
