At the present time, we urge you to get informed and involved in the activities of the Cover the Uninsured Week. The week of May 1 through 7 is designated the time for focus energy and activities that call attention to the 46 million Americans who lack proper access to healthcare because they lack insurance. These people who lack insurance are our neighbors. Most Mennonites live in the 13 states listed below. There are more than 20 million people without insurance in these states. Each one of these millions is a tragedy now unfolding or waiting to happen. The Cover the Uninsured organization seeks to call attention to these people through local activities that are mostly hidden from view and without an effective voice to be heard in places where decisions are made.
