| The Mennonite Church USA Delegate Assembly acknowledged in July 2005 the growing crisis of healthcare access for Americans. The group passed a resolution committing itself and calling on the rest of Mennonite Church USA to promote health and access to healthcare.
This portion of MennoniteUSA.org is designed to educate, encourage and stimulate Mennonite Church USA members on this issue so you can gain awareness of the healthcare access problems in your country. With this education and information, we urge you to allow your compassion for those suffering as a result of this injustice to guide your response to this crisis.
In round table discussions, delegates identified three areas to provide focus for the healthcare access initiative. These areas are wellness education, access for church workers and advocacy for healthcare access to government. Additional components of this program include initiating dialogue with Mennonite healthcare institutions, engaging the business community and encouraging local responses to local healthcare access dilemmas.
