Rev. Amy Zimbelman is the conference minister of Mountain States Mennonite Conference. She holds a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School and has also served in Zambia, through Mennonite Central Committee and in South Dakota with Mennonite Voluntary Service. In South Dakota, she met her husband/best friend, Matt Zimbelman, and they live in Colorado Springs and have two young sons. She loves spending time with her family, cooking/eating food, board gaming with friends, going outside to walk or hike, learning about other cultures, hashing things out in long conversations and trying to follow Jesus.

Planning events so that we have a quorum
Retreats for pastors, and Faith and Life Forum
Yearly assembly, where we talk and sing
These are a few of my favorite things
Lots of committees are all influential
Ministry Council decides on credentials
Leadership board, so many more — church planting, social enterprise, DRT, assembly planning — and finance: ka-ching
These are a few of my favorite things
Helping with issues and changes in churches
Conflict, misconduct and pastoral searches
Preaching and presence for most anything
These are a few of my favorite things
When there’s conflict
When they don’t show
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things, and then, I don’t feel so bad
Look toward the future and raise up young people
Chaplains are serving beyond church and steeple
Passion ministries are not second-string
These are a few of my favorite things
Treasurer, admin — these staff are essential
Conference minister — that’s self-referential
Moderator and the help that role brings
These are a few of my favorite things
Joining together, through talking and greeting
CLC and all our national meetings
Communications like Facebook and Zing!
These are a few of my favorite things
When the offering dips
When the political polarization stings
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things and then I don’t feel so bad!
