Make a Financial Contribution

The Mennonite Church USA Archives relies heavily on the contributions of private donors.  Donations to the archives are tax deductible and help archives staff continue to provide access to and preserve the repository’s manuscript holdings.

A $100 contribution will pay for any one of the following:

  • 20 archival document cases for storing historic papers and photographs
  • 300 acid-free folders to protect materials within document cases
  • Professional staff time to answer two in-depth reference questions
  • Paraprofessional staff time to digitize and upload five unpublished letters or brief essays

Make an In-Kind Contribution of Historical Records

We welcome gifts of historical materials, provided they fit our collection development policy.  Please note that all donations of materials must be accompanied by a deed of gift. The Goshen repository temporarily unable to accept manuscript donations due to staff transitions

The Mennonite Church USA Archives incurs a number of expenses with each manuscript donations, ranging from the staff time to prepare the materials for researcher use to the boxes and folders to house the manuscript safely.  We greatly appreciate financial gifts in conjunction with gifts of historical materials.

Archives staff members are not qualified to appraise the monetary value of materials donated to the archives.  Should you require the services of a manuscript appraiser, consult the Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association of America and/or the American Society of Appraisers web sites.
