ELKHART, Indiana (Mennonite Church USA) — From Spirit-led conversations to glam-bot-style selfies, the Exhibit Hall at MC USA’s Follow Jesus 25 national convention promises to be more than just a showcase — it’s a hub of connection, celebration and discovery. Featuring 20+ exhibitors representing Anabaptist colleges, agencies, ministry partners and resource providers, MC USA’s Follow Jesus 25 convention in Greensboro, North Carolina, July 8-12), invites attendees of all ages to engage with the broader Mennonite community in meaningful, memorable ways.
Attendees are invited to stop by MC USA’s exhibit throughout the convention to interact with different staff members and learn more about the denomination’s work. The exhibit, dubbed the “The Equipping Station,” will highlight MC USA’s Historical Archives, Peace & Justice work and Church Vitality resources. Visitors will be invited to have staff members stamp their MC USA “passport” for the chance to win a prize. Other fun features will include an Archives photo caption contest and a 360-camera setup, where attendees can take glam-bot-like selfies.
Follow Jesus 25 attendees will also find plenty of interaction and connection with other Anabaptist organizations. Youth are encouraged to network with Anabaptist colleges and organizations, while adults can discover new ways of serving and engaging with their Anabaptist community.
Jennifer Hayes, director of Marketing and Communications for Mennonite Mission Network said, “Mennonite Mission Network is looking forward to both presenting at and having our exhibitor’s booth at the convention. We plan to use this time to share, pray and celebrate 500 years of Anabaptism.”
Adam King, recruitment specialist for Eastern Mennonite Seminary said, “It’s easy to overlook the power of exhibiting at a convention like MC USA’s, but I’ve spent the past few years exhibiting for Eastern Mennonite University and Seminary and I’ve learned that sometimes, genuinely life changing conversations can happen around an exhibitor’s table. King continued, “I believe that sometimes, when we take time to meet over a table, even an exhibitor’s table, the Holy Spirit works some pretty spectacular wonders in our lives.”
Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in MC USA’s inaugural Menno Makers Market at the Follow Jesus 25 exhibit hall. This new area will feature handmade gifts by Anabaptist artisans to browse or buy. The open spots are limited to 20 exhibitors. The discounted exhibitor fee is $200 and includes a table, access to Wi-Fi and one convention registration.
