MC USA releases seminars, Bible studies and resources from MennoCon21

ELKHART, Indiana (Mennonite Church USA) — Mennonite Church USA (MC USA) is offering free online access to a wide variety of resources from its hybrid MennoCon21 convention. The resources, which include keynote sermons, educational seminars, Bible studies, storyteller videos and more, are available on MC USA’s website and YouTube channel.

“Since MennoCon21 was a hybrid event, we are able to offer a more robust selection of resources than we have in the past,” said Scott Hartman, MC USA director of event planning. “The worship speakers and virtual seminars from MennoCon21 are great assets for congregations to use this summer as they need additional resources,” he added.

The keynote sermons focus on different ways to think about peace and feature worship speakers, including:

  • Jon Carlson, moderator elect for MC USA and lead pastor of Forest Hills Mennonite Church, Leola, Pennsylvania
  • Lesley Francisco McClendon, senior pastor, and Caleb McClendon, assistant pastor, of Calvary Community Church, Hampton, Virginia
  • Meghan Good, teaching pastor at Trinity Mennonite Church, Glendale, Arizona
  • Glen Guyton, executive director of MC USA
  • Ana Hinojosa, director of Constituent Engagement for Mennonite Mission Network

Educational seminars are presented by MC USA agencies and ministry partners and cover topics ranging from financial advice to antiracism work to climate change concerns.

The three-session Bible study with Safwat Marzouk, associate professor of Old Testament at Union Presbyterian Seminary, Richmond, Virginia, focuses on the topic, “Shalom Justice Amidst Pandemic and Racism.”

The resources will be highlighted through a series of posts on MC USA’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter).

“MennoCon is a time for MC USA to gather as a community for worship and faith formation,” said Hartman. “It’s an exciting combination of learning, growing and fun with friends old and new.”

MennoCon23 convention will take place in Kansas City, Missouri, July 3-8, 2023. The event features content and activities for all ages.

Mennonite Church USA is the largest Mennonite denomination in the United States with 16 conferences, approximately 550 congregations and 59,000 members. An Anabaptist Christian denomination, MC USA is part of Mennonite World Conference, a global faith family that includes churches in 59 countries. It has offices in Elkhart, Indiana and Newton, Kansas. mennoniteUSA.org
