Dear MC USA, family and friends:
On the occasion of my installation as executive director, I would like to thank all of you for the support, kind words, contributions and gifts. I look forward to serving and guiding the leadership of this denomination as we Journey Forward together and serve the unique needs of the communities we are called to. While I am not one to seek personal celebrations, I am proud of the diverse group of people who made my installation ceremony possible. It was overwhelming and humbling. I was joined by people of various races, genders, ages and orientations united in their love of Christ and Mennonite Church USA. Again, I thank all who joined in person and by internet. For those that were who not able to join us, I leave you with this charge that I shared during the installation:
I pray your attention will not be on me, but on the call that God has placed on your life. May we always be gathered together as Christians by our love.
“Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples” (John 13:35, NLT).
